How to Make Twitch Panels in Canva for Free
Your Twitch panels are one of those little things that can make your entire channel feel more finished.
A good stream is important, but your branding should carry through the whole ecosystem. Your overlays, alerts, profile graphics, panels, colors, fonts, and even the way you organize your About section should all feel like they belong to the same creator.
As a graphic designer and streamer, I handle my own branding, and Canva is one of the easiest tools I recommend for creating Twitch assets without spending a lot of money (or any).
You can make Twitch panels in Canva three different ways:
use Canva's free Twitch panel maker
customize a premade Twitch panel template
create your own panels from scratch using a custom canvas
Here's how.
What Size Should Twitch Panels Be?
Canva currently recommends 320 × 160 pixels as the standard Twitch panel size.
Twitch can display taller panels as well, but 320 pixels wide is the important part.
If you are creating your own design from scratch, start there.
In Canva:
Click Create a design.
Choose Custom size.
Enter 320 × 160 px.
Create your blank design.
Now you have a canvas ready for your first panel.
Option 1: Use Canva's Twitch Panel Maker
Canva has its own free Twitch panel maker with ready-made designs specifically built for Twitch.
Search Canva for Twitch Panel or open its Twitch panel maker.
From there, you can choose a design and customize:
colors
fonts
icons
illustrations
backgrounds
text
branding elements
Canva's current panel maker defaults its Twitch designs to the standard 320 × 160 size, so you don't have to worry about setting up the canvas yourself.
This is probably the easiest route if you are brand new to design.
Option 2: Start With a Canva Twitch Panel Template
You can also go directly into Canva's template library and search for:
Twitch panels
There are hundreds of premade designs covering everything from clean minimalist styles to gaming, retro, cute, neon, illustrated, and more.
Pick one that is close to the visual direction you want and start customizing it.
But here's my designer advice:
Don't just grab the first popular template and change your name.
Millions of other Canva users have access to the same templates.
If you choose one near the top of the search results, make enough changes that the finished panel actually feels like yours.
Change things like:
colors
fonts
background graphics
icons
spacing
border styles
shapes
text treatment
Use the template as scaffolding, not as your finished identity.
Option 3: Design Your Twitch Panels From Scratch
If you already know what you want your branding to look like, starting from a blank 320 × 160 canvas gives you the most control.
Add your background first.
Then build the panel using the fonts, colors, icons, textures, and other elements that match the rest of your channel.
For example, you might make panels for:
About Me
Schedule
Socials
Merch
Tips
Rules
Discord
YouTube
Once you've finished the first panel, don't rebuild every other one from scratch.
Duplicate it.
Canva copies the entire page, including the fonts, colors, graphics, sizing, and layout, so all you have to do is change the wording on the next panel.

This is one of the easiest ways to keep every panel visually consistent.
Keep Your Twitch Panels Consistent
Consistency matters more than complexity.
If your first panel uses one font, one icon style, one background treatment, and one border, don't suddenly redesign the next one from scratch.
Your panels should look like a set.
Try to keep:
the same font family
similar text sizes
matching colors
consistent icon styles
the same basic spacing
matching backgrounds or borders
Think of them as pieces of one interface rather than a pile of unrelated graphics.
That consistency is what makes a Twitch page feel branded.
The same principle applies to the rest of your stream graphics. Your alerts, overlays, panels, screens, and transitions do not have to be identical, but they should feel like they belong to the same visual world.

Name Your Panels Before You Download Them
Here's a small thing that can save you some cleanup later.
Name your Canva pages or designs clearly before downloading them.
For example:
About Me
Schedule
Merch
Discord
Tips
That way, when you download your panel graphics, you are not staring at a folder full of mystery files trying to remember which purple rectangle goes where.
How Do You Download Twitch Panels From Canva?
When you're finished:
Click Share.
Choose Download.
Select PNG.
Choose the pages you want to export.
Download your files.
PNG works well for Twitch panels because it keeps graphics and text clean.

How Do You Add Panels to Twitch?
Go to your Twitch channel and open the About section.
Turn Edit Panels on.
From there, you can add a new image panel and upload the PNG you created in Canva.
You can also add a description and an image link.
This is where your panels become more useful than simple decoration.
Make Your Twitch Panels Clickable
If you have somewhere useful to send people, use the link field.
Your panel can lead viewers to things like:
your merch store
your website
Discord
YouTube
social media
donation or tip page
affiliate pages
other creator projects
Canva specifically promotes Twitch panels as clickable ways to direct viewers toward things like merchandise, social accounts, support pages, and other information.
That makes your About section part of your larger creator ecosystem instead of just a row of pretty pictures.
Are Twitch Panels Worth Designing?
Yes.
I've had people specifically comment on my own Twitch About section, which tells me viewers absolutely notice when someone takes the time to design it.
Your stream branding should not stop when the broadcast ends.
When someone visits your channel, your panels are another chance to tell them who you are, what you're doing, and where else they can find you.
And you do not need expensive design software to make them look professional.
Canva already gives you free Twitch panel templates, a dedicated panel maker, and the ability to create your own designs from scratch.
Start with one good panel.
Duplicate it.
Change the words.
Build the set.
Then make the whole thing yours.
