I get it. Streaming is awesome. And maintaining a good stream has many benefits. Potentially improved mental health with a whopping side of dopamine is certainly one of them. However sometimes streaming has the opposite effect. It BURNS YOU OUT and leaves you feeling like a shell of your former self. 


There are many reasons why streaming makes you feel exhausted. As well as many symptoms of streamer burnout and depression. Learn to recognize these symptoms when they occur, and begin implementing these streamer self-care tips for better mental health.


How You Know That Streaming Is Burning You Out:


  1. 🌟You feel exhausted all the time from streaming long hours, staring at screens, and sitting on your ass for hours on end- setting up your stream. 


  1. 🌟Your eating habits are awful. You barely eat, or you eat way too much. Your eating schedule becomes centered around your stream schedule - and not in a good way.


  1. 🌟You start neglecting important stuff, like finishing that book you’ve been writing, bathing, grooming, getting exercise, and spending time with your family. 


  1. 🌟You aren’t getting out of the house like… AT ALL. No fresh air, no vitamin D, no yard work, just Call Of Duty and Marvel Rivals.


  1. 🌟You kinda dread streaming. The joy of it is fading, or it just isn’t enough to motivate you anymore. Whenever you even think about streaming, there is a sense of anxiety rather than eagerness. 


  1. 🌟You feel stretched thin to please your audience. Maybe your redemptions and sub incentives require you to do a lot. Or it could be that you have a stream schedule that is too rigorous and demanding.


  1. 🌟You are developing new bad habits as a result of streaming (drinking, smoking, sedentary habits, etc.)


As you can see -streamer burn out looks A LOT like depression.


It happens to all of us. You stream and stream and stream some more…  The next thing you know, you are completely BURNED OUT and lowkey depressed. You might even be considering quitting streaming altogether.

  1. 🌟Take scheduled breaks. This might seem obvious, but get you some REST Boo. Take a nap or just take A recess and do something else. Allow your eyes, spine, and brain to recover and refresh. Your mind, body and computer will thank you for it. 


  2. 🌟Prioritize nutrition! Don’t use streaming as an excuse to eat Popeyes chicken & Cheetos everyday. Remember to eat regularly, and eat GOOD! Oh yeah! Drink water too.


  3. 🌟 Stay Focused. Don’t let streaming distract from living your best life! Take an honest look at what your life needs. Make a to do list - AND DO IT! No excuses!


  4. 🌟 Turn off your computer and leave the house! Smell the pollen! Feel the allergy attacks and the sting of mosquitos sucking your blood. 


  5. 🌟 Fall in love with your stream again. Taking a break will help you miss streaming. Also, spruce your stream up and give it a makeover to help you fall back in love. Make love to your stream and treat it like you treat Bae. 


  6. 🌟Lessen the load. Create a stream schedule that’s less demanding. Adjust your stream itself to be less work. Make it easier on yourself so that your stream doesn’t stress you out. 


  7. 🌟Replace bad habits with good ones. Create hydration, stretch and squat redemptions. Use your stream as a way to make you a better person.
